I’m not convinced that it IS so complex. It seems a little more likely that there are a group of internet marketers who don’t want people to know how simple it is. My goodness, just post daily and visit other blogs in your niche, leaving the keywords relevant to your comment and the post. Search engines index everything. Having the right plugins installed on your blog helps even more. So many marketers who are still selling obsolete products and courses will say anything to distract us from the simplicity of internet marketing, which is according to Wikipedia, “synonymous” with SEM. After all, without purchasing leads, how else can we generate traffic. Interactive internet marketing is a must! The search engine is the real magician. Technology is the real Guru.

Thank you for your input. I agree, there is a lot you can do without tools, after all, there were no tools around to begin with…
But having said that, now that the tools are around and every one and there mother is using them, you sort of need to keep up to stay competitive. I think about keyword research alone. How much do you want to spend to find a niche that you want to go after? Would you not rather use that time to investigate the subject and write articles or so?
In my opinion, tools are not absolutely required but they do make your life easier. And if you want to make a living from online marketing you better automate your processes as much as possible.
